Born in 1981 Britney Spears was not yet 21 when she made Oops I Did It Again (2000), but she shows an awareness beyond her 19 years in her understanding of the science fiction genre, which places the video of her single CD release firmly in the TV 21 tradition of Gerry Anderson`s Supermarionation puppet characters, and their development from the small screen to the big screen Hollywood `blockbuster` in which the puppet characterization is translated into `no strings attached` performances by the actor or actress.
Descending inside her giant ring at the commencement of Oops I Did It Again Britney Spears is merging two Gerry Anderson TV 21 characters from British TV series, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, that ran from 29 September 1967 to 14 May 1968. Captain Scarlet`s distinctive red suit was the central focus of the Supermarionation puppet show in which the protagonist secret agent was one of a team of `rainbow warriors`, including Lieutenant Green, Captain Blue and Colonel White, and the Judas figure of Captain Black who was secretly a double agent working against the efforts of world wide security organization, Spectrum, to defeat the alien Mysteron menace that came to attack the Earth from Mars in UFOs.
On the Mars of Oops I Did It Again Britney Spears` spaceman guest is her Mr Ron. President Ronald Reagan, known as `Ronny Ray Gun` to the opponents of his strategy to defend the Earth by means of ground and space based weapons systems, introduced in 1983 as the Strategic Defense Initiative or SDI, was disparagingly labeled `Star Wars` after director George Lucas` movie of the struggle of enthralled worlds to become independent from the Empire and its overlord, Darth Vader, Star Wars (1977).
Placing a hook into his backpack, Britney in her Captain Scarlet style red plastic one piece suit hoists her spaceman visitor until he is seen above her where she is discovered wearing a white bikini dress, and so there corresponds to Colonel White in terms of Gerry Anderson`s TV 21 Spectrum. Beside her astronaut`s spacehelmet are what appear to be the tines of a giant fork representing the danger that Mr Ron `Ray Gun` was designed to avert, which is that the Earth be destroyed in nuclear Armageddon by what the Bible describes as the devouring `red dragon` in Revelation that, although it waits in vain to devour Jesus, in his `Second Coming` as the `New Redeemer`, still represents the upcoming and inevitable Armageddon that, according to Revelation, does take place. Even though the result is perdition for the evil and heaven for the good.
In Gerry Anderson`s Joe 90 puppet series for British television which ran from 29 September 1968 to 20 April 1969 the central protagonist, Joe McClaine, 9 years old, descends onto the set inside a spinning orb much in the way that Britney Spears descends onto her set in Oops I Did It Again inside a giant ring. Joe 90 was labeled `Spy-fi`, which means an incorporation of the spy and science fiction genres. The concept of Joe 90 was role play because the schoolboy was able to program himself with the skills needed to perform any role using the technological device represented by the giant spinning ball inside which he descended onto the set in the opening credits to each show.
In Oops I Did It Again Britney Spears is endeavouring to incorporate elements of the `secret agent` and scifi `role play`. Her spaceman`s camera eye captures her in the white bikini dress, which in terms of Supermarionation would have her corresponding to the figure of Colonel White in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, and `Mission Control` spy on Britney Spears` every move through the camera eye attached to the astronaut`s spacesuit. Although we`d assume that `Mission Control` are opbserving from Earth, it seems as if they`re actually inside the spaceman`s head and are watching through his retina. His camera is filming, but isn`t sending pictures back to Earth. They`re being relayed directly through the retina of the spaceman to `Mission Control` inside his skull.
Gerry Anderson`s Supermarionation studios tested many of its ideas for productions through its British children`s comic, TV 21, and the notion of a crew inside the head of the character isn`t unusual to British comics. In the Beano, the Numskulls are:
Brainy who controls Edd's brain and is the head of the numbskulls.
Blinky who controls Edd`s sight/eyes.
Radar who controls his hearing/ears.
Nosey who controls his smell/nose.
Cruncher who controls his mouth/taste.
In the developmental psychology of Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) the four functions of `Thinking, Sensation, Feeling and Intuition` are associated with the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, which accords with the Numskulls` functioning under the control of Brainy in the Beano comic.
In the TV 21 puppet series Thunderbirds, which ran from 30 September 1965 to 25 December 1966 featured International Rescue and its unique vehicular transportation, Thunderbirds 1 through 5, which are an Earth rocket, a heavy transporter complete with detachable pod, a spaceship, a submarine (or other equipment) designed to be delivered in the pod by the heavy transporter, and an orbiting space station, Thunderbird 1 is distinctive for its red nose cone, which corresponds to the sense of smell or `Intuition` in the Jungian schemata of the four functions of consciousness, and the notion of the crew of Britney`s spaceman`s `Mission Control` as Beano style `Numskulls` is supported by the figure of Brains in the Thunderbirds TV 21 series, who appears to be played by the `Mission Control` character in Britney Spears` Oops I Did It Again who asks at the outset:
`Earth to Mars lander. Report status please.`
The spaceman replies that there`s `98% oxygen`, which means he can speak with his mouth, and so has the `Feeling` function, while `gravity is effective`, so he can walk easily, and has the `Sensation` function, because he`s reading his suit display life support monitoring equipment, and `Sensation` is associated with the eyes. Discovering a miniature engraved cameo picture of Britney Spears in the sand proves the astronaut has `vision`, which means that `Intuition` is the function to be examined in the course of the `program`.
Breathing takes place through the nose, that is, `Intuition`, which is the superior function if it is the one most closely related to the ego. The mouth is duplex insofar as it takes in nourishment and speaks, and it`s associated with `Feeling` because it contains Thunderbird 4 in the belly of its `pod`. Thunderbird 4 corresponds to the inferior or subconscious shadow function, because it`s a submarine, and so denotes subvocalization, which corresponds to prayers, and is appropriate for those enclosed beneath the sea in a submarine. In Jungian psychology, the unconscious is represented as an ocean that contains the archetypes of the collective imagination, which appear in dreams, art and culture as the impulse engines of human development.
Prayer is the method for constellating the archetypes, and the Virgin Mary is represented as the soul or anima figure that mediates as a psychopomp between the ego that needs to develop and the unconscious `Self` that prompts it with material disseminated by the anima, which is called by Jesus, in the New Testament, the Holy Spirit/Paraclete, `teacher, guide, comforter and helpmeet`. In any differentiation of the inferior or subconscious shadow function, the spirit must be transformed, which in Catholicism is symbolized by the Communion service, where the `bread and wine` are Jesus` `body and blood` from the `Last Supper` before his crucifixion, death, Resurrection and Ascension to heaven.
Jesus` Ascension denotes the technological development required for the human species to travel beyond Earth, which necessitates the transformation of what Jungian psychology terms the shadow-anima complex, that is, the `bread and wine` of the Catholic Communion service, which is symbolically Jesus` `body and blood`, and denotes the prayerful supplicant`s acceptance of the spiritualized soul or anima as the archetype of the diver which brings to the surface of the mind material to assist in conscious development from the ocean of the unconscious `Self`. In Oops I Did It Again Britney`s spaceman presents her with a gift:
`But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?`
The allusion is to the Titanic (1997) movie in which Rose dropped the blue heart-shaped diamond pendant, `the heart of the ocean`, into the sea at the place where the sunken ship Titanic, that had hit an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York in 1911, had sunk. Britney`s spaceman replies:
`Well I went down and got it for you baby.`
In typical Joe 90 style his `program` is to be both diver and astronaut. He`s the hero archetype of the ego who, as the diver, descends into the depths of the unconscious `Self` to develop the archetypal content, with the help of the anima or soul, into consciousness. As the spaceman he signifies space technology resulting from the transformation of instinctual libido and the shadow/inferior function, which in Oops I Did It Again is represented as `Feeling` in prayerful speech:
`You see my problem is this:
I'm dreaming away;
Wishing that heroes, they truly exist.
I cry watching the days.
Can't you see I'm a fool,
In so many ways?
But to lose all my senses...
That is just so typically me.
Baby, oh.`
Because eyes, ears, nose and mouth correspond to the four functions of consciousness, that is, `Thinking, Sensation, Feeling and Intuition`, to `lose all my senses`, as Britney sings, suggests that what is `just so typically me` refers to Carl Jung`s 1913 discussion of the Theory Of Psychological Types (1971) in which Jung posits that individuals are either `Thinking`, `Sensation`, `Feeling` or `Intuition` types. In Jungian psychology the spirit of a woman is her animus, which is described as a `throng of male admirers`, and in Oops I Did It Again Britney is `wishing that heroes, they truly exist` but she`s a `crying fool` because she knows that heroes don`t exist.

Jesus` birth from the Virgin Mary uncontaminated by male semen indicates he`s `woman`s seed`, and `Woman` is a species with her own penis and socio-economic valence for reproduction and production of the technology that would allow her to escape from the parasite on her womb. In her red plastic one piece pilot`s suit Britney represents Thunderbird 3, which is an all red spaceship that International Rescue used to perform maintenance on its `ears`, that is, the `Thinking` function, which is the Thunderbird 5 space station that listens to each call for help from the Earth and relays it to International Rescue for action.
Thunderbird 3`s `escape velocity` is `25,200 Mph`1 with the emphasis on `escape` because, according to God, although the `serpent` seed` has `perpetual enmity` for her species `she shall crush his head with her heel as she leaves` Earth, because her eyes are on heaven, and so the Thunderbird 3 spaceship is the eyes or `Sensation` function, which would be lost with Britney`s other `senses` if the devourer were to bring death and blindness to `woman`s seed`. Homosexual pederasty and its contagion of war has HIV/AIDS as a valence for its `biological warfare` against `Woman` through its witching, that is, the mixing of blood, shit and semen in sterile mockery of the act of sexual reproduction, and so blindness and death is what it`s communicating:

Essentially the Hoverbed machine is for rescuing people from high rise buildings as they leap to escape fire, and Britney Spears` reclining on what looks like a fireman`s trampoline, while her spaceman hangs suspended above her, suggests the Hoverbed is what is being alluded to. He is hovering over her while she appears floating cloudlike on what appears to be a fireman`s trampoline below his camera`s eye. In Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Colonel White is the commander in chief of Cloudbase, which is Spectrum`s aircraft carrier in the sky:
`The term cloud is used as a metaphor for the Internet, based on how the Internet is depicted in computer network diagrams, and is an abstraction for the complex infrastructure it conceals.`5
Britney is indicating the amount of internet research an individual needs to accomplish if they`re to comprehend. As the Angel floating cloudlike beneath the camera eye of her spaceman, Britney is also alluding to the Angel Interceptors, that is, the jets in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, which intercept the aliens as they zero in on Earth in their UFOs:
`Cloudbase is defended by the Angels, a squadron of five female pilots named Destiny (squadron leader), Harmony, Melody, Rhapsody and Symphony, who fly the Angel Interceptor fighter aircraft.`6
In Revelation a `sword came out of his mouth`, which is the `Word of God` used by Jesus to command during the depredations of the `red dragon` upon the Earth before the `woman`s seed` receive a `new heaven and Earth` from God and the `serpent`s seed` receive perdition as a punishment for their enslaving of women. In the Grail legend, the sword is the metaphor for discriminatory thought, that is, the judgment of the `Thinking` function, while the Grail itself represents love or `Feeling`, which is important because the feminine soul or anima, as the spiritualized soul, finds communion through the Holy Spirit/Paraclete with `woman`s seed` and God.
According to tradition the Grail is the bowl from which Jesus ate and drank at the `Last Supper` before his crucificion, death, Resurrection and Ascension to heaven. The significance is due to the `bread and wine` offered by Jesus to the disciples, which is given to the prayerful supplicants in the Catholic Communion service as the wafer and wine in token of their desire to accept the transformational power of the Holy Spirit, which in Catholicism is called transubstantiation and represents the spiritualization of the soul or anima so that intellectual and spiritual endeavour can occur.
After the death of Christ, the Roman centurion Longinus pierced the side of Christ with his spear, which effectively released the Holy Spirit/Paraclete from the side of Jesus. As `Second Eve` from the `Second Adam`, the Holy Spirit/Paraclete corresponds to the spiritualized soul or anima that emerged similarly as Eve, the first woman in Eden, after God created Adam, the first `Man`. Because of the significance of the spear of Longinus it was known as the `Spear of Destiny`, which suggests Britney`s referring to the Manifest Destiny of the United States of America, with the help of her British allies, when she appears floating cloudlike beneath her spaceman: `I`m Miss American Dream since I was seventeen.`7 In terms of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons she`s Colonel White, commander of Cloudbase, with its jets` squadron leader, Destiny Angel, who`d be Britney herself again in her red plastic one piece pilot`s suit:
`... the series ... [had] positive multicultural value ... [ because of] the allegorical nature of Captain Scarlet. Christian symbolism is heavily implied, with Colonel White as God. Captain Black as the Devil, Captain Scarlet as Christ, Cloudbase as Heaven, and characters codenamed `the Angels` ... [with] Lieutenant Green as ... trickster hero. On dualism ... `the darkness of the Mysterons is most easily seen as the psychological rift - the struggle of `good and `evil` - of the Western world as personified by Colonel White and his team. In the Grail cycle of myths the sword, the cup and the spear are completed by the symbol of the round table, which represents that at which Jesus sat with the disciples before his crucifixion. In effect Jesus corresponds to the `trickster hero` because he`s for the Redemption of `woman`s seed`, which seems simple but the trick is to understand that women have a penis of their own and so constitute the independent species that Jesus` birth from the Virgin Mary prefigures. In the Arthurian myth cycle of the legendary English king Arthur, who will return to defeat the enemies of the English, the archetypal content of the Christian story of Jesus is enshrined as heroic. In his `Second Coming` Jesus defeats the `red dragon` of Revelation grown since the first appearance of the `seed` of the serpent in Eden.
The round table of the Arthurian knights and the table of the disciples and Jesus at the `Last Supper signifiy the `Sensation` function because it represents eating and drinking rather than devourment, and death is the blinding of the good so that evil is all that can be seen, which is why the table is the symbol of fellowship because it represents the eyes, and why Arthur`s betrayal with his wife by the knight Lancelot is paradigmatic of evil. In fact the 14th century Arthurian tale of Gawain and the Green Knight in which Gawain is invited by the Green Knight to cut off the green knight`s head and have all the lands and titles of the green knight is a metaphor for evil. The green knight first agrees with Gawain that all Gawain`s lands and titles will be his if he returns after Gawain has beheaded him. Upon the return of the green knight, Gawain has lived in terror, and the green knight forgives him, but what he is teaching is that Gawain fears not to be able to see because death will blind him, whereas the green knight, who is wiser, represents the Christian perspective that death won`t close his eyes, but Gawain isn`t as wise as the green knight..
Blindness and death for others is what the evil want, and that`s the lesson of the green knight. He`s a trickster but, like Jesus` birth as `woman`s seed` from the Virgin Mary, the secret is to see what the trick is for. Judas Iscariot betrays Jesus by telling the Jewish police that he can be arrested and tried for sedition by the Roman judge, Pontius Pilot, and represents the role of men with the `woman`s seed`, which is to feign brotherliness until they are sure of their ascendancy over the victim. Lancelot, for example, relies on his friendship with Arthur both for a woman to give him sexual gratification and power, while certain that Arthur`s attachment to his best knight will save his life. He`s an evil trickster figure insoafar as the trickery is to feign friendship, which is what the green knight also teaches.
Although Britney`s Apollo style spaceman could represent both Thunderbird 2, the `pod` recovery vehicle, and Thunderbird 5, the space station, Britney`s suspension of him suggests that she, from the time period in which Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons is set, that is, 2065, has identified him as an old Mr Ron `Ray Gun`.
Just as the giant devour ring makes Britney seem smalled, so the `pod` of Thunderbird 2 may be understood as represented by the small black box out of which the spaceman takes Britney`s `gift`, which should contain the heart-shaped blue diamond pendant, `the heart of the ocean`, in accordance with the logic of the video`s symbolism. If the sunken Titanic is the vessel to which Britney`s spaceman has descended to bring her the heart-shaped blue diamond, that is, the `Feeling` function associated with the mouth, that is, water, oxygen for breathing, and speech or song, the meaning of her lyrics is evident:
`Oops I did it again!
I played with your heart, got lost in the game.
Oh baby, baby.
Oops, you think I'm in love!
That I'm sent from above.
I'm not that innocent.`
It would be too simplistic to say the lyrics represent Britney`s point of view rather than the spaceman`s. Essentially, it`s a duet in which he speaks only a few lines when delivering the `gift` of the `pod`, that is, the `heart of the ocean`, after he has been delivered by Thunderbird 2, as the yellow submarine, Thunderbird 4, to find it. Because Thunderbird 2 is duplex and corresponds to the mouth that eats and drinks, and speaks or sings, the presence of the giant tines of a fork beside the spaceman`s helmet as he hangs suspended above Britney in her white bikini dress is indicative of a problem with the mouth as `Feeling` function, that is, the enslaver and devourer of `Woman`, which is homosexual pederasty and its contagion of war and plague. Descending inside her giant`s ring at the start of the video`s action, because of the gigantic fork metaphor, it`s a devouring.
An American TV series Mission Impossible (1966-73) used the `Spy fi` concept to present the idea of an agent, played by Tom Cruise in the movie spinoff (1996, 2000, 2006, 2011), being given a cassette tape containing instructions for his mission, which he destroys before embarking, and Oops I Did It Again is a video that can be read much in the same way as a cassette can be listened to. However, Britney`s spaceman is seen walking backwards towards the end of the action to indicate that it’s a video cassette or CD, which can be rewound or watched again. The Mission Impossible concept is that it`s impossible to rewind the tape, which is a challenge to manufacturers, and the CD and VCD were the result.
The real `mission impossible` would be time-travel, where the protagonist can move back along the tape to where the Twin Towers were, for example, which is Britney Spears` challenge to the manufacturers. Otherwise the perception is that everything on the tape is to be destroyed, because the impossible mission is to save it, which is what Christianity represents and what the `red dragon` of Revelation opposes as the devourer. The Numskulls inside the spaceman`s head suggest Britney`s using the Christian concept of `Salvation` as an autosuggestion to the Numskulls, because the program is that of a `snuff movie` in which everything on the tape is destroyed because the impossibility of time-travel presupposes that you wouldn`t want to save someone else`s property and, as most people are imprisoned in poverty, they care less about their own surroundings and even less about others` surroundings, which results in the periodic devourings of `Woman` as art, culture and civilization in the wars of `perpetual enmity` that the `serpent`s seed` have for `Woman` and is what she is bred for by them.
The demolition of the Twin Towers by urban terrorism suggests that they no longer exist, but the manufacturers` principle of tape rewind presupposes time-travel, which suggests that the ensalvers can return to the World Trade Centre to take possession of the property and that this is what they were attacked for. Because the film of the Towers being attacked by terrorist hijackers is recorded, the manufacturing theory would be that the Towers are recorded, which means that they can be revisited. Britney`s Oops I did It Again is the perception that people make mistakes, but property is eternal, that is, a broken vase is a created item, and the concept of tape rewind, as applied to the physical world, is time-travel, which involves the perception that mistakes happen and can not only be forgiven but seen to be forgiveable because the vase that was broken isn`t broken in eternity, that is, on the tape when it`s rewound. Obviously, someone broke the vase, and so the question is whether they are save to have a vase, not whether the vase is breakable. Consequently, the irredeemable are the breakers of vases because the vase remains broken for those who wanted to save it. In Thunderbirds the undeclared Thunderbird 6 is Lady Penelope`s automobile, FAB 1, who sometimes assists International Rescue, and the autosuggestion is that the car is important because it`s equipment belonging to a woman, so the singer can be rescued because the autosuggestion of the programer is that `Woman` and her art, culture and civilization is to be devoured by men as the slave owners of a `snuff movie` producer:
`I think I did It again.
I made you believe,
We're more than just friends.`
